Yearly Retreat

Continuing with the theme of designating regular times for quiet introspection, group participants arrange an annual retreat. This retreat can be alone, with family, or with a larger group. (If many members want to do this together, they can arrange a group retreat.) These yearly retreats may be like vacations, but with significant time set aside for reconnecting with mission statements and silent introspection. Participants could examine questions like: "Am I happy with my life and where I am headed?" "Do I want to make any major changes?" "How did the past year go, and what would I like to focus on this coming year?" This yearly retreat is a chance to step back and think about the "big picture" of life. A retreat could be as simple as a quiet weekend at home (with no work to do, and the kids at Grandma's house). Or it might mean spending time away from home, in a beautiful natural location.
